Abstract:
The objective of this study is to delimit Areas of Permanent Preservation (APPs) and its
degradation rate of the municipe of Sapezal in the Mato Grosso state. These APPs will make possible the
obedience of legal agreements, the development of economic activities according to the paradigm of
sustainable development and the establishment of environmental liability that the municipality and its
production units may be generating either because they are not preserving their permanent reserves or
because of the use or degradation of these reserves. The influence of soil and its effect on the APPs was
verified. Remote Sensorial Techniques and Geographic Information System for the Geotechnical Mapping
were the tools used. The Mapping will permit the drawing of a Plan of APP Monitoring and Control, the
Evaluation of the Assets and Liabilities of an APP and the necessary actions for the adjustment to these
foundations. This will contribute to the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the community.
The results were thematic mapping of the municipe of Sapezal-MT in the scales 1:200.000 and 1:50.000.
The APPs correspond to 2,79 % of the municipe area and 1,17 % are degraded area inside the APPs.
