Abstract:
To identify the main aspects related to the delay of the diagnosis of tuberculosis in health services. Methodology: This is an integrative review, conducted in November/December 2017, where the SciELO and VHL search sites and the LILACS, MEDLINE, BIREME and BDENF databases were consulted. When the descriptors were cross-referenced, in SciELO, 77 articles were obtained and, after applying the inclusion criteria, the number dropped to 40, where they were submitted to the exclusion criteria, leaving only 5, which were used.In the VHL, 2,101 articles when the descriptors were crossed and, after the inclusion criteria were applied, there was a reduction to 56, with 49 found in the LILICAS database and 7 in the MEDLINE. Of these, when submitted to the exclusion criteria, 4 articles were selected, 3 on LILACS and 1 on MEDLINE. Results and Discussion: After analyzing the results found, the aspects favoring the delay in the diagnosis of TB were divided into two categories, the health professionals and the service organization. In the first category, we list the professional disqualification, insufficient number of professionals, delay in requesting diagnostic tests, not performing an active search (home visit) and delay in the scheduling of consultations; in the second, we have deficient accessibility, inadequate attention model, transfer of responsibilities and inadequate structure. Conclusion: It was verified that there is a need to train all health workers, be they managers or professionals who work in the care so that the door of the system detects suspicious cases, can diagnose and start a treatment, cure. There are few studies and publications that portray the delay in the diagnosis of TB, so I suggest the development of both quantitative and qualitative studies, and it may be with managers, professionals or users to get involved in this discussion.
