Abstract:
To analyze the occupational exposure of community health agents (CHA)
municipality of Alagoa Grande - PB, based on the identification of occupational hazards and
problems associated with work. Method: Exploratory-descriptive study, with quantitative
approach, carried out in the city of Alagoa Grande - PB. The sample was composed of 60
CHA selected for convenience from the minimum as three-year CHA, this being the criterion
for inclusion in the sample. The data were collected in October 2018 by means of a
questionnaire self-applied and the analysis was subsidized by descriptive statistics, using
measures of absolute and relative frequency. Results: The main problems evidenced were
stress, eye irritation, muscle pain, lower back pain, and headache/migraine. Occupational
hazards most cited were animal attacks, sun exposure, contact with people infectious
excessive walking, irregular streets and sidewalks, physical emotional. Conclusion: The
multiplicity of occupational hazards and health hazards arising from the professional practice
of the CHA, calls for the implementation of strategies aimed at maintaining the physical and
psychological integrity of professionals, especially in controlling exposure to occupational
hazards.
