The role of science education should be to develop the capacity for decision-making , which entails systemic presentation of content learned in the classroom , while realizing they need to pursue ways to think . Our goal was to apply a teaching methodology that breaks the boundaries between the different curriculum components proposed by changing school curriculum including the prioritization of content and didactic sequences traditionally worked in education , with the student as the protagonist of the construction of their own knowledge and teacher as a mediator or facilitator in teaching -learning process . The work was José Luiz Neto School in the City of Santa Rosa Bar - PB , in partnership with the PET - MEC - SESu Research Laboratory in Chemistry Education - CES program and graduate in Teaching and Learning UFCG to study the effects of human intervention in Curimataú Dam Bar of the City of Santa Rosa . In this study students were responsible for data collection for all research and educators were the guiding in obtaining the information necessary for the construction of knowledge . The meeting of the teaching staff took place every two weeks. It was concluded that the importance of effective teaching method , because its educational character awaken in students an attitude of the protagonists of their own learning . But for best results you need a new look at this educational design in order to make a change in the school curriculum in order to improve student learning.
