Resumen:
The environmental problems caused by human activities are one of the main themes in recent years, object discussions and actions aimed at conservation and environmental awareness. Environmental education is of great importance to formal education. Thus, in the school context, processes of teaching and learning necessary for the autonomy of learners and the construction of a critical environmental awareness, to provide experiences that take into account the daily life and experiences of the student, graduate creative and critical citizens should be adopted. Said object of study is provided in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education - LDB 9394/96, which establishes that the school and its Political-Pedagogical Project (PPP) addresses the Environmental Education and propose actions that may guide the activities by teachers and facilitate their development with students. From this assumption, the present work was developed through the description and analysis of the information contained in the Political-Pedagogical Project (PPP), State Primary School and Middle Rolderick José de Oliveira, a school in the state schools of the city of New forest (PB), in relation to their proposals, practices and actions related to environmental education. This research was developed, therefore, through a qualitative approach based on the concept of environmental education in the teaching-learning process, where from the PPP document analysis and questionnaire applied to teachers, we found that EA is still a great challenge to the school and especially for the teaching approach.
