Resumo:
This research aims to discuss the importance of the process of literacy in the early grades. It aims to analyze the contributions and limitations of literacy, according to the proposal of the Pacto Nacional pela Alfabetização na Idade Certa - PNAIC. For a better understanding of the importance of "literacy in the right age", we present the contribution of authors as Brandão (2006, 2007), Carvalho (2010), Freire (1996, 2005), Cagliari (2002), Tfouni (1997), Smith (2004) et alii. Regarding methodology, we conducted a qualitative study in a documentary analysis approach. We recognize that there are difficulties in literacy in a supposed "right age" because each child has learning time itself. Therefore we conclude on the need to deepen the studies in this field, especially considering the imposing form of the plan's implementation, the lack of dialogue and the disregard of studies related to literacy.
