Abstract:
Pregnancy in adolescence comprises a period of great change, so a good quantity and quality power appears as a factor of relevance, since besides the nutritional contribution that pregnancy requires, there is still the need for nutrition for growth and development of the teenager. The knowledge of eating habits during this phase is extremely important and can be done through surveys such as the survey of Food Consumption frequency (QFCA), which must cover the different dimensions of life of interviewed, such as socioeconomic factors. The present study had as main objective to analyze the dietary intake of pregnant women assisted by teenagers prenatal care family health units of the municipality of Cuité-PB and your relationship with the family average income and nutritional status of the same. It is a qualitative research, descriptive type and cross-sectional time clipping occurred in the municipality of Cuité/PB, with a total of 15 pregnant adolescents assisted by basic health units in the city. The application of a questionnaire in interview format, which comprised the following subjects: General information, obstetric data, anthropometric assessment, socio-economic data and a QFCA. From this survey, it was possible to observe the prevalence of low income, where the majority of the interviewed receive social benefits from the Government, in addition, many of the pregnant women were overweight and obesity. In that match the food choice was the preference for processed foods and ultraprocessados, while there was a low frequency natural foods and minimally processed. To relate these data with the socio-economic profile, it was found that the economic factors tend to influence in a negative way the EN and the dietary intake of young pregnant women. The results point to the need for implementation of nutritional strategies for this population, focusing on the main difficulties mentioned earlier.
