Resumo:
Teaching and learning are two aspects that are part of the human intellectual
development. All the content of teaching curricula to be better understood by the
students need that classes be developed with successful. This study aims to contemplate
the methodology of teaching science as well as to investigate the challenges faced by
the teachers of this context. It’s important to the teaching of this subject the
development of a methodology that search to transmit knowledge in a way that getting
students’ attention and learning at the same time. The methodology used in this work
was a case study with an application and survey of a semi-structured questionnaire with
ten subjective questions and three objective questions to five science teachers of the
elementary school II of the Vidal de Negreiros Elementary State School in Cuité,
Paraíba. Results in teachers pointed out the challenges they face in their daily lives,
such as: low wages, professional devaluation, and lack of resources, professional
training and lack of student interest; according to them these challenges affect the
routine professional teacher. However, these teachers have sought to overcome such
challenges promoting activities that meet necessities for students with a methodology
that search exploring texts outside classes, projects, field classes and experiments, as
well as the use of resources to assist in their practice.
