The lubricating oils are substances of mineral base responsible for formation of a protective film, which obstructs the straight contact between two surfaces that are moved between you. When the used oils are launched straightly in the environment or when burnt in the not controlled form, they provoke serious problems of pollution of the ground, of the waters and of the air. To recycle the lubricant means to apply processes physical-chemical on the used oil, making possible getting the oil base, raw material that can be re-used for getting lubricants. The objective of the present work is automotives used in motors value the process of recuperation of lubricating oils to petrol through extraction for polar solvent (2-propanol) on basis of his physical-chemical properties. The lubricating oils (SAE 20-50W), when the petrol was applied in motors suffered a process of recuperation with the solvent 2-propanol. After the recuperation, all the oils were characterized in function of the physical-chemical properties (density, degree API, color), rheology, infrared spectroscopy (IR) and thermal analyses. The IR analyses indicated the products of the reaction of oxidation. The thermogravimetric curves indicated a reduction in the initial temperature to measure that the oil was degraded.
