Résumé:
The present study has as its theme the associations as public policy for local development.
Specifically, configuring it as a case study on the associations of women lace makers of
Paraiba cariri and linking with local public policies for local development. With the overall
goal is to analyze the practices and actions of the Community Association of Women
Producers of Camalau/PB as forms of local development. This research is characterized as a
descriptive, exploratory study of a qualitative nature and the use of literature search, through a
case study, with application of interviews to members. As a results have been that the
association has a key to local development and to the lives of people involved in this process
paper, it improves self -esteem social recovery and their finances. The social and economic
gains of this association are incalculable, since transform lives by improving the welfare of
the community. Therefore, it is concluded that through a community and an efficient public
administration engaged in associative movements will have more chances to win social and
economic inequalities, greatly transforming society.
