Resumo:
This dissertation intends to analyze the process of identification of the Sem Terra's youth with
ideals and practices of MST. First we will first reconstruct political participation of youth in the
history of the fight for land throughout the History of Brazil, both national and local history;
focusing on participation of Sem Terra's youth in construction of MST. Second, we will
reconstruct the history of the occupation of Tingui and Quissama's Farms based on the discourses
and experiences of the young leadership. In these discourses we will look to understand how
youth's identification with the MST occurs (occupations, publics manifestations, mystics, etc). In
order to do that we will start with Stuart Hall's conception of identification and the process of
class formation (and identification) of Thompson; for the concept of youth our references will be
Bourdieau, Norbert Elias and Maria Jose Carneiro, among others; for MST we will use Gilmar
Mauro and Joao Pedro Stedile understand on the matter.
