Resumo:
This work aims to study a specific category of workers, clad in Campina Grande- PB in the 1980s and 1990s this way, we seek to analyze the everyday craft practices, the impressions about what lived in the city and in the world I work in a scenario of little opportunity for employment, growth of peripheral areas and swelling the population. The major newspapers in circulation at the time, announced the closure of several factories and industries, showing an atmosphere of crisis, a situation that reflected in the daily lives of many workers. From this city of some aspect that seemed to offer opportunities for certain
profiles of workers, sought to demonstrate the tensions about what is living in the city depending on an activity that requires physical strength, like that of silver. To accomplish this work, we use interviews made with the workers, and lay hold of newspaper materials to broaden perspectives on the city context. Therefore, from the impressions of silver, sought to demonstrate other ways to understand the city and linked aspects to the world of work, demonstrating that there is a tenuous relationship between the make-up of workers with the city changes.
