Resumo:
This research involves the purpose of working ways to mobilize and reflect on tackling
inequalities and social problems using the Solidarity Economy and its principles to
awaken young people and adults to seek income generation, training for social
transformation. The research was carried out at UMEF Jose Bonifacio Barbosa de
Andrade from the community of Pio X located in the municipality of Sume - PB that had
to identify the concept of solidarity economy and its principles in the understanding of
the students enrolled in the Education of Young and Adults of the UMEF Jose School
Bonifacio Barbosa de Andrade (PIO X) in Sume PB, after the same, be included in the
Projovem Field Knowledge of the earth debate. In the work the principles of solidarity
economy as a critical way of thinking and organizing an economic model that worries
about the well being of the subjects was highlighted as a chance to make new stories
aimed at emancipation and a better quality of life. In the first phase of the research we
carried out a bibliographical review about what Solidarity Economy is and each one of its
principles and its relation with the students of the Education of Youths and Adults. In the
second moment of the research, we conducted a field survey at the school with
questionnaires. We found that no student knew the concept of Solidarity Economy and
its principles.
