Resumo:
Smart’s materials had got a big place in industrial and academics environment, and it has been used for development and study of new products in the aerospace and automotive industries and the medical area. In this context, the metallic shape memory alloys has been used to develop new materials, specifically, the polymers composite reinforced by shape memory alloys. Due to application of these composites materials is directed to high precision industry, the manufacturing process is an important factor that contribute to finish quality and structural performance of the product. The Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) process shows itself a method that present this requisites, as finish surface, piece quality and lower process time. Then, the mean of this work is simulate numerically the manufacturing process of a polymer composite reinforced by NiTi ribbons by RTM, using the Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase flow model in unsteady and isothermal conditions. The solution of the governing equations was realized by a CFX software. The results of pressure field, velocity and the phases volume fraction presents and analysed. By the results, concluded that the bulk-flow, as a process parametres, is a fact that contributed for product final quality, shows an improvement on the material surface finish. Consequently, the air fraction reduction was obtained. Futhermore, the fluid properties (density and viscosity) show a factor to injection system project. The resin injection position is connected to the injection energy than percent of void formation.
