Abstract:
This monographic work, titled Resignifications of practices, attributions and
competences of the Pedagogical Coordinator in the current days, aims to discuss
about the resignification of practices, attributions and competences of the
Pedagogical Coordinator in order to understand the Pedagogical Coordinator’s
functions and the challenges experienced daily in his profession. Initially, an
exploratory research was developed based on the theoretical contributions of authors
such as SAVIANI (1986), MEDEIROS (1987), RANGEL (2001), SALVADOR (2012),
LIBANEO (2004), FREIRE (1996), FONSECA (2001). In the second moment, a field
research was carried out with 4 (four) Pedagogical Coordinators from 4 (four)
Municipal Schools of the Poço Dantas-PB city. In the data collection, a semi-
structured interview was used as instrument, it was composed by 07 (seven)
questions, attached to the work. The results pointed out the many difficulties
experienced by the Pedagogical Coordinators, such as excess of attributions,
teachers who resist ideas and projects, lack of both motivation and participation of
parents and/or the person responsible for the students, among others. This situation
points to the importance of clarity of the Pedagogical Coordinator’s function at
school, as well as the necessity of his continuous training and pedagogical support
by school direction, so that all people together enable the construction of new
knowledge to face the challenges of the educational practice.
