Resumen:
In this work, we studied the polymer matrix nanocomposites. The
nanocomposites were prepared with polypropylene as matrix and bentonite clay as a reinforcement/load from the melt intercalation method. The project was conducted in three stages. In the first step we have used two clays, Brasgel and the Cloisite, and different concentrations of load for pre-preparation systems. Initially, the clays were organophilizated with ionic surfactants and then characterized by XRD techniques, FTIR and thermal analysis (TG). Subsequently, the clays were incorporated into the polymer matrix in order to obtain nanocomposite. The formation of nanocomposite and its characteristics
were determined using the techniques of XDR, FTIR, thermal analysis (TG), SEM and mechanical properties. In a second step, it was done using a third material, a compatibilizer. We used two different compatibilizer, the EMA-GMA and PP-g-MA, and only one type of clay, Brasgel. For each type of compatibilizers, the concentrations of clay used were 0.5 and 1 per. The characterization was performed the same as the first step. Finally, the third phase, a study was conducted in all rheological systems developed during the project. This study was done from an oscillating rheometer with parallel plates. From the analysis, one can conclude that there was formation of microcomposites in most of the compositions.
