Résumé:
The environmental degradation in the river environment is directly associated with the
types of use and management of existing resources in watersheds. In this perspective, it is
essential to investigate the environmental conditions through the implementation of a
geoenvironmental analysis of the area. The aim of this research was to investigate the
existence of environmental degradation from biological indicators in a stretch from the
Piranhas River. For so much, the materials and methods that supported this study were
compartmentalized in phases and took place through theoretical and theoretic - conceptual,
cartographic lift, field study for general knowledge of the area, photographic register and
establishing parameters for establishing the degree of environmental vulnerability. The data
analysis was based on georeferencing and vectorization method of spatial phenomena.
Through this study the environmental points of vulnerability have been identified in the
Piranhas River drainage basin, with the location of the main sources of degradation and the
indication of the main consequences of the actions and practiced activities, which are excess
organic matter present in the river channel, triggering erosion by the removal of riparian
forest, water pollution by domestic sewage and in general the reduction in the quality and
quantity of natural resources existing in the ecosystem as a whole, especially impacting on the
capacity of the same. In conclusion that the various human activities practiced in this area
exercise negative pressure on the environment and it becomes even more severe through the
lack of environmental conscience of the population and the control of inefficiency and
management of natural resources by competent governmental bodies are therefore important
matrices for the existence of this problem.
