Abstract:
The textbook is a tool used for teaching for several years, with the function of providing help and support to those who make use of this tool. In chemistry teaching this tool has been used for a short time, but has been studied enough to be improved and has an even greater effectiveness in relation to its function, some criteria can be observed in the current textbooks of chemistry. The present work aims to analyze the main criteria discussed in the textbooks of chemistry on the content of chemical kinetics and whether these are sufficient for the promotion of quality learning. It is a qualitative and descriptive bibliographical research. Thus, the historical contextualization of contents, the presence of images / figures / engravings, the practical experiments presented, if the exercises proposed are based on ENEM / vestibular and the presence of analogy / contextualization with the students' daily life. In this way, after the six books in the PNLD 2018 Guide are analyzed, the results show that almost all the criteria analyzed are covered in the 6 textbooks, but some are still a little deficient. It was possible to conclude then that the current textbooks seek an improvement through several criteria to promote a good learning.
