Resumo:
The partnership between school and family is essential for the good intellectual and social development of individuals and some situations of collective learning, involving parents, children and teachers, can bring significant results to this relationship, and consequently to the students' learning. Thus, due to the various characteristics of the games, we use them as a bridge/link for this involvement. Thus, we developed this research with a qualitative approach seeking to answer the following question: What are the contributions of a work with cooperative activities between parents and children through mathematical games for the relationship between family/school? Based on this questioning, our objective was to analyze the considerations of parents and students in this type of teaching methodology and the contributions of games in the family/student/teaching relationship; to investigate the importance of establishing a link between family and school, aiming at the process of teaching Mathematics and to encourage the family to follow the development of the child's learning, as partners and collaborators. The research was developed from a workshop with games held at the State School of Elementary and Middle School "José Luiz Neto" in the city of Barra de Santa Rosa/PB, with two classes of the 1st year of high school. The games developed were: 4-color domino, Find the word and Sudoku. The analysis of the data was by description of the workshop in field diary, photographs and recordings, and the interpretation of the results were based on the theoretical reference that considers the game as responsible for the culture among the peoples and as a way of working mathematics through social and cultural relations in an attractive and challenging way, stimulating the development of mathematical thinking and affective knowledge, and facilitating socialization. The results showed that the use of games is a good resource to stimulate the participation and involvement of parents in the teaching and learning process of their children, promoting a closer relationship between both, besides contributing to the teaching process of Mathematics.
