This work deals with an investigation of the evaluation methods used in the learning in Chemistry in the public and private schools of the city of Cajazeiras-PB. The thematic presented will address the methods of evaluating school learning used by high school teachers and the students conception about the tools used in the learning construction. It was used as referential articles and books by well-known authors such as Luckesi, Perrenoud, Hoffman, Mizukami. The data were collected through a Research for Teachers and a Roundtable with High School schools of the state, federal and private schools of the city of Cajazeiras, hinterland of Paraíba in order to ascertain their conceptions regarding the importance of the process as well as its purpose and use in the teaching of Chemistry. The gift This study favors the understanding of evaluative practices and their importance in the chemistry teaching. The results showed that the evaluation is still a practice when some teachers refer to evaluation as a form of assign note. In the face of the discussions, it was possible to detect the difficulties both by teachers and students. The greatest difficulty in achieving success in is in the interpretation of the questions and the mathematical calculations, both in the teacher conception as in the student.
