Resumen:
In this work we present, from theoretical and methodological foundations of the field of
historical-critical tradition, the relationship between the political project of the Movement of
Landless Rural Workers (MST), and its educational project elements present in it that could
possibly give rise to one counter-hegemonic conception. Hegemony as a practice conforms
positioning and political behavior, which we hereby do permeated by conceptions, values and
ideologies. Thus, the groundwork for sediment sewing consensus, adherence to societal
projects. Therefore, this study is limited to the orbit itself Political Sociology. So here is
intended to unravel the educational proposal of the MST, from their educational principles, in
order to understand whether or not a counter-hegemonic conception, which abounds
collaboratively based militant. Therefore, the range of responses to issues raised availed himself
so fundamental theoretical canons developed by Antonio Gramsci, especially in categories
hegemony, counter-hegemony and Expanded State. The analyzes undertaken so delimited as
field research, the organization of MST in the State of Pernambuco. In this study education
earns significant relief, however, not as formal educational activities to teach systematically
how to do something, or share knowledge, but rather as a tool for training and dissemination of
political culture. In a brief reflection regarding the issue, it is first noted the historical
constitution of the MST, considering the conditions that have joined and contributed to the
formation of the movement. Is also presented here as a backdrop, the contemporary historical
context, while it sought to put it in parallel with the political processes in vogue, whose
collective subjects are inserted, in an attempt to understand how the MST presents this scenario
and especially reference as its educational project inserted in this process. Thus, the search
result exposes the range of results that indicates the presence in the educational proposal MST
benchmarks targeted education of political elements that, despite present limits, to some extent
presents potential tensioning the field of hegemony.
