Resumen:
This dissertation has proposed to analyze the construction of the public image of
Tatiana Medeiros candidate at municipal elections in Campina Grande - PB, 2012.We
seek to understand how the candidate used his representation of a woman as a strategy
to attract the attention of voters, and hence helpful. During election campaigns, many
factors are at play that may harm or not the image of a candidate, especially as the
subtle relationship between public and private life, which seem to be one in the electoral
process, and as a result, image can be deconstructed or positively valued, as in the case
of our object. Our intention is to reflect on the policy as a dynamic process analyzing
the election campaign of the candidate, deepening the discussion on the participation of
women in national politics, and doing an overview of how the election was in town. But
also took advantage of the space to present our theoretical issues, using categories of
analysis that enabled the analysis on the public image, and as it was our foray into
fieldwork terms that allowed access to various materials that were related to the name of
the candidate, so that the public image is also a dynamic process of construction and
deconstruction that can interfere with the outcome of an election.
