Abstract:
The Young and Adult Education enable the scholar formation of citizens who did not
have the opportunity to study or to conclude scholar formation in conventional age. In this
sense, the Young and Adult Education in prisons aim to guarantee the education access as a
right, independent of the deprivation of liberty situation facing the exclusion reality and the
invisibility of social groups. This way, this research aimed was to understand the relevance of
use of movies and documentaries in prisional Young and Adult Education and the providing
in the biological literacy process in the schooling of students of Presidio Padrão Regional
Masculino de Cajazeiras-PB. The survey was conducted from February 24 to May 29, 2015,
with the participation of all students of the High School of Young and Adults Educational of
the prison in Cajazeiras- PB city. The research had a quali-quantitatives character using as
data collection instrument of observation, discussions, interviews, semi-structured
questionnaires and proposed activities participation. The obtained results indicate that the
biology class can extrapolate the mere approach of biological knowledge, promoting
reflections on ethics issues, socials, environmental, economics, among others. It was also
found that the use of didactics movies and documentaries in the biology teaching provided a
meaningful learning and contextualization of scientific knowledge, thus enabling further
consideration of the various items in the pedagogical intervention.
