Tuberculosis or TB is one of the oldest diseases in the world and is defined by the Ministry of Health as an infectious and transmissible disease, which primarily affects the lungs, although it may affect other organs. The objective of this study is to analyze the knowledge of users of a referral service for TB on the care offered to TB, aiming to control TB. And as specific objectives: To characterize the sample regarding sociodemographic and epidemiological aspects; Investigate the user's understanding of the drug treatment and outpatient follow-up of TB, offered by the service; To ascertain aspects inherent to comorbidities, poor adherence or abandonment of treatment; To question about changes in the habit of life, arising from illness; Identify misunderstandings or weaknesses in the user's understanding about the health care offered in the service; To point out the potentialities of the service for the control of tuberculosis, from the knowledge of the user. An exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach, carried out at the Reference Service in Tuberculosis and Leprosy of the city of Campina Grande - PB. And the sample corresponded to 8 TB patients and / or those co-infected with TB / HIV. The information was collected between August and September of 2017 through recorded interviews, and analyzed according to the technique of Content Analysis Thematic Modality proposed by Bardin. It was found that the users understood well what was transmitted to them in the consultations. The assistance dynamics conducted by professionals proved to be accessible to users. There has also been an inversion of the flow of care, where the referral service has established the first contact with the patient.
