Abstract:
Pollution of a superficial and dormant water flow characterized as dam comes from the type
of use and occupation of the soil in the corresponding adjacent strip. Therefore, it was
necessary to carry out an environmental impact study to understand the true events that are
causing alteration in the physical and water environment of this area. Thus, the objective of
this study was to analyze and diagnose the environmental impacts in the Residencial Parque
Cumbe allotment. In order to carry out this study, a qualitative and descriptive
methodological procedure was used with observation of phenomena and the ADHOC method
for data analysis. According to the survey, environmental impacts were verified in the
Residencial Parque Cumbe allotment from biotic, abiotic and social factors. In addition,
positive and negative impacts were identified based on land use and occupation such as
housing construction in area of the dam and human actions. These factors have altered the
biophysical characteristics of the environment, through the contact of pollutants, erosion,
sewage, black cesspits and chemicals that are thrown into soil and water polluting the
dammed water flow. In this perspective, the lack of urban planning added to the low
investment in environmental education and the neglect of the municipal inspection organs are
the responsibles for the control of the problem.
