Abstract:
The present work starts from an analysis about the development of strategies for
coexistence with the Brazilian semiarid from the different forms of capture
developed in the rural community of Sítio Cocos, municipality of
Cajazeiras - PB, emphasizing the years 2012 to the present. The objective is to describe the
water supply strategies developed in recent years. The work makes a
brief discussion about the problems facing the semiarid, which are not
related only to climate and environmental issues, but also to the absence of
State as provider and administrator of public policy. Through a methodology
Descriptive and exploratory, it was possible to describe the alternative forms of water
are used in the community promoting the strategies of coexistence with the region,
starting to see drought no longer as a problem but as a challenge that is possible
overcome by using the appropriate proposals that will facilitate life in the region. To
to present the forms of water collection and supply alternatives in the Cocos and
realize that after their use there is an improvement in the living conditions of the
population.
