Abstract:
The textbook’s analyzes is a procedure that, besides to verify itself adequacy to scholar use, aims to clarify or problematize a subject in a certain social context. With an intention of identify contents that support the approach, insert and/or expanding the discussion about the cross-cutting theme of sexual orientation in the classroom. Therefore, this research presents an analysis of the Coleção Biologia de Vivian L. Mendonça composed by three books from 1st to 3rd of high school. From this, this study was divided into two parts, each one in a sequential moment: in the first step sought theoretical support about the cross-cutting theme sexual orientation, followed by an analysis of the textbook collection; The second step began with the identification, in the textbooks, of any material related to The National Curricular Parameters of cross-cutting theme (Body: Matrix of Sexuality, Gender Relations and Sexually Transmitted Diseases / Aids). The contents were organized according to the volume and then according to the axes to which they made inferences. Finally, it was suggested some teaching methods followed by a table to which were placed six contents chosen randomly from the previously selected ones and for each one was suggested a facilitating methodology and some possible transversal approaches for the content before merely biological. The theme under study was perceived throughout the three volumes of the Collection, except for a unit of one of the volumes that did not contemplate the content regarding human sexuality.
