Resumo:
The drought is inculcated in the life of the population that inhabits the semi-arid northeast of Brazil,
acting actively or because of its impact on the memory of the person who experienced it. THE
The purpose of this paper is to understand the different perceptions that residents have about the
drought phenomenon in the city of Ipaumirim-CE. To achieve this objective, the following
phenomenological methods and discourse analysis, as well as bibliographic techniques for
substantiate; guided interview, case study and data tabulation. The drought phenomenon
is very active, where there were 32 (thirty two) events with an average of three years
of duration. In this paper, the interviewees present specificities in their speech
the past droughts and homogeneity in relation to the current ones, being explained by
culture that each one has and the scenario that each one has experienced in the past and present. This
