Home care is advocated by the World Health Organization, being used with the intention of humanize and provide comfort to individuals, appearing as a substitute or complementary model. The caregiver, an important person, within this scenario, understood as people with or without bond with the individual, who have the capacity to help to meet the needs emanating from day to day. This study aimed to analyze: Home care for men with health problems, from the perspective of the Best At Home. The literature review of this research was subdivided into two chapters, these ones: Home care as a new model of health care; And Care as the human essence and represented by the person of the caregiver. This is a qualitative observational study. Twelve male caregivers enrolled in the Best Home Program in the city of Cuité-Paraíba, elected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this research, participated in this study. As a tool for data collection, the direct approach interview was used, guided by a semi-structured script. This study was submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Alcides Carneiro, for analysis and opinion, as established by Resolution 466/12 of the National Health Council under, Nº 1.919.636. From the results obtained in the research, four thematic categories emerged, these ones: the female hegemony in home care: a social historical construction; The fragmentation of the needs of an integral being: the reflex in the care at home; The home in the centrality of care: the advantages of home care; And Revesses of home care: the burden of responsibility. The need for category II subcategories was identified. The results showed the presence of the woman as the main caregiver, being wives or daughters, aged between 31 and 65 years, retired or autonomous. However, a discrete male participation as main caregivers of men in home care. Fragmentation in home care was revealed in this study, influenced by the strong tendency of the hegemonic medical model, prioritizing the biological needs. It is concluded that the development of this research allows to know the reality in which the men in the home care are, based on the actions given by their caregivers, presenting the need of transformation of the assistance to provide an integral, humanized and individualized care.
