Resumo:
The practices traditional of teaching have been criticized by many experts of education
aimed at teaching based on the use of different teaching methods. Since teaching is still
marked by memorizing texts and assessments that often involve no problems and student
situations. Therefore, this study aimed to the use and production of educational games as a
pedagogical tool of knowledge and improvement of the teaching-learning process in biology
at E. E. E. M. Cristiano Cartaxo, located in Cajazeiras. The research was qualitative and
quantitative character was held from April 18 to August 19, 2016, with the participation of
twenty students of the 1st year of high school (class A) of the said school. The methodology
consisted of using a structured questionnaire seeking information as socioeconomic profile of
students Biology of content that most have difficulty learning and students' views on teaching
biology in school; production and application of educational games and observations
participation of students during the execution of activities. The results indicate that the use of
educational games in the school environment favors the understanding of scientific concepts
and provide a moment of interaction between student / teacher and student / student. So the
games serve as a way to make the most provocative and participatory teaching biology
contributing to the processes of learning, leading students to develop their creativity and a
fresh look at science and biology.
