Gestation, childbirth, and birth are marked by deep feelings within which bonding with the mother-baby-family exists. Law 11,108 of April 7, 2005 was promulgated to guarantee the right of the pregnant woman to have a companion of her choice in the parturition process. In view of this premise, the objective was to analyze the knowledge of this Law from the perspective of multiparous pregnant women in prenatal care. This is an exploratory-descriptive study under the perspective of a qualitative approach, developed in Basic Units of Family Health in the rural area of the city of Cuité-PB. The study sample consisted of eight (08) multiparous pregnant women in prenatal care. Data collection occurred between May and June of this year. The empirical material was analyzed from the methodological device of the Discourse of the Collective Subject and discussed in the light of the pertinent literature. With regard to the sociodemographic characterization, it is evident that the majority of pregnant women have an average age range from nineteen to thirty-eight years, live in an unorganized union and have complete secondary education. As for obstetrical data, the majority have five or more pregnancies and all started prenatal care in the first trimester of pregnancy. Four tables containing the Central Ideas were established, which were established in agreement with the analysis of the speeches obtained. These were named, respectively, as: the solitary yes and the non plural; Tranquility and security, Surveillance and Nervousness; Good experience; Emotional support. In view of the results, there was a lack of knowledge about Law 11,108 / 2005 on the part of the pregnant women interviewed. Only one of them said that they had the experience of a chaperone during the parturition process and emphasized that it plays a very important role. It is evident that to change the practice in relation to the birth it is necessary to humanize the assistance from the prenatal one. However, this transformation must begin with the health professionals, and the need to sensitize them so that they can provide more information to the parturients and their relatives about their rights is evident. It is recommended that during the prenatal consultations a space is created to promote educational actions in an interactive and dynamic way, in order to provide pregnant women with a better knowledge and learning related to the process of gestating and giving birth. It is also necessary to include the accompanying persons in the care from the prenatal period, so that they understand their true function.
