Resumo:
The climatery is an endocrine phenomenon resulting from the exhaustion of ovarian follicles
that occurs in all middleaged women. Begins around age 35, extending to 65 years old. At
this stage, due to changes in vaginal pH and consequent structural changes in the cells of the
region, there is an immunological deficit, which makes the occurrence of infections /
vaginosis. We tried to analyze the occurrence of gynecological disorders in women with
climacteric age with a focus on research the frequency with which they perform cytological
examination and to identify possible changes in such examination and, finally, to relate the
presence of changes in your sexual life. Study exploratory, transversal, with a quantitative
approach with a sample of 330 women aged 35 to 65 years conducted in the town of
Cajazeiras PB, in the health units in the urban area, with the use of instrument developed by
the researcher. For grouping the data we used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences
(SPSS) using descriptive statistics, and the parameter of proportion and as measure of central
tendency average. The ethical aspects were respected for research involving human beings
466/12. The results show that the frequency with which women perform cytological
examination is an examination per year, 71% have some type of gynecological infection, 73%
maintain an active sexual life, there is a relationship. The climate between the old and the
increased incidence of gynecological disorders being the most frequent colpocervicals
inflammation between the sample with 41.7% and the most common treatment is the drug
representing 41.7% of the total. It follows that women in climacteric age have a natural
demand with regard to healthcare and thus arises the need for health services develop specific
strategies of attention to these women seeking a better reception and better resolution of
grievances, enabling a better quality of life. Therefore professionals should be more aware of
this singularities.
