Resumo:
The use of play during the hospitalization period is a methodology that has been debated
among professionals as an effective tool during their stay in the hospital environment. Studies
show the effects and benefits of this methodology, resulting in an improvement in the
psychological state as well as a greater adherence to the treatments that alone bring with them
invasive and painful procedures, in which with the introduction of this tool can ease their pain
and cause the child feels welcomed and safe with the professionals who provide services. The
present study aimed to analyze through the integrative the use of storytelling as a humanizing
strategy during child hospitalization. It is an integrative review research, gathering and
summarizing the main results within the scientific works, soon developing its results and
discussions to be stipulated according to the main ideas. After the searches in the databases of
each DeCS: Hospitalized child. Humanization of assistance. Ludoterapia, the results of the
sample were composed of a total of 10 articles, where 04 are from the database of BDENF
and 06 of LILACS. After conducting the research using only the descriptors mentioned above,
it is possible to observe the scarcity of scientific studies addressing the topic of storytelling as
a strategy during the child hospitalization process during the years of 2013 to 2019, which is
the main objective of the research. Most of the studies in the sample cover descriptive
exploratory studies of qualitative approach, about 08 papers among the 10 presented have
their respective methodologies. Only 2 papers involve the literature review, in which it allows
a greater dimension in the research, providing a basis for future research. There is still a lot to
be built above the theme that has been growing steadily, improving the health and
interconnection of the professional with the patient, bringing benefits and learning for both
parties.
