Resumen:
The present study aims to analyze the changes that the Bolsa Familia Program (PBF) provided
on strengthening household food beneficiaries, is also a strong tool for women's participation
in household budget in the municipality of Coxixola - PB. This is a case study, conducted
through a questionnaire applied to families benefiting from the program. The study is a
historical social policies in Brazil, the Income Transfer Programs, giving greater emphasis to
the Bolsa Familia Program, which despite being criticized, has benefited thousands of
families across the country including Coxixola - PB. The data were analyzed qualitatively. As
main results we note that the Bolsa Familia Program provided an increase in family income of
beneficiaries, thereby contributing to strengthening household food and how the benefit is for
the woman, has strengthened its participation in the family budget. The PBF cooperates with
the stay-age children attending school, which may contribute to the long term, to combat
illiteracy, and also allowed greater household access to health services, as families must keep
data immunization, nutrition in constant control. The study may contribute to a new
perception of managers on the policy for a new direction, since, according to the families
surveyed, it is clear that in large part they do not intend to leave the program and go it alone
without government aid.
