Abstract:
In the age of globalization and information, facing a competitive, dynamic and extremely demanding society, it is necessary for the teacher to become a professional available to improve and adapt his teaching technique and practice. In order to contribute to the improvement of chemistry teaching and also of the other sciences, several new types of exposure of the content inherent to the curriculum have been developed. In particular attention to the teaching of chemistry developed this research, with a different view aims to motivate and enable the improvement in teaching the new demands of students who experience constant changes related to New Information and Communication Technology (NTICs). The present work had as objective the development of Virtual Learning Objects (OVAs), directed to help in the comprehension of the periodic table. As a development platform for OVAs, Hot Potatoes available on the web for free. Hot potatoes, offers six work tools, JQuiz (* .jqz); JMix (* .jmx); JCross (* .jcw); JMatch (* .jmt); JCloze (* .jcl); The Masher (* .jms). In the work were used the resources JQuiz, JCloze and JCross to develop three virtual learning objects. With the application of such OVAs at the Federal University of Campina Grande in the Teacher Training Center, it was found that Hot potatoes is a powerful tool for the development of OVAs to assist in the teaching-learning process of chemistry.
