Mental illness is an event that affects the individual for various reasons, it considers the need for the creation and implementation of new strategies and technologies to assist in addressing the daily suffering. Thus, comes as care technology in the context of mental health, Community Therapy Integrative (TCI), has emerged as a therapeutic approach aimed to alleviate human suffering through approaches that foster empowerment as well as potentiate discoveries, making the person develop solutions to their adversities. Several studies have confirmed the effectiveness of TCI as care tool, and increasingly it appears the incidence of this in the university, before that this study aimed to understand the significance of ICT in the lives of students participating in an extension project entitled: "the unfolding of itself: TCI in Psychosocial Care Center". This is an exploratory-descriptive qualitative study that sought to understand the phenomenon in question, using a semi-structured interview tool applied to the students in the Center for Education and Health of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG) campus Cuité, in the state of Paraiba. The survey was conducted in the months of February, March and April 2016. For the analysis of empirical data, we used the thematic content analysis technique proposed by Bardin. After the interviews, the results enabled the construction of the following categories: Knowing the (un) known: the encounter and approach to ICT; TCI and its mobilizing potential; and the following subcategories: Betraying a discovery cycle; Unveiling experiences for life. The study revealed that the TCI has a significant impact, bringing positive changes in the lives of students in question. It was also observed that the contact of the participants in the classroom served as a subsidy to better know the TCI and as a result join the said extension project. It can be said that the participants expressed satisfaction and personal changes, as TCI collaborated to rescue key factors in their lives, favoring the discovery and gathering strength to face the everyday hardships. TCI returns to its participants, the ability to reflect on the reality where they live, so as a result, able to deconstruct conceptions of life directing coping strategies in the face of daily clashes. Therefore it can be concluded that the students found the Extension Project and TCI a source of support for personal improvement, and create opportunities for creation and strengthening of links between the group, the community and the teachers.
