Resumen:
In nursing, the professional identity of the nurse appears linked to the conscience of the
individual, in the relation of another with himself. This relations is built little by little in the
environment the subject is interacting, reflecting in the way the nurse sees himself and the
others, as well as the role they must practice and the final result of their work. The study aimed
at investigating the perception of a minimum family health team about the professional identity
of the nurse of the Basic Attention. This way, it is a descriptive field study with a qualitative
approach. It was done a research with 29 health professionals, having among it 09 doctors, 10
nursing technician, and 10 community heath agents from the Family Health Strategy from the
district of Cajazeiras, Paraíba. It was also used to collect data a semi-structured interview, which
was used between July and August of 2016, after the approval of the Research and Ethics
Committee n°1.610.409. For the data analysis it was chosen the Discourse of the Collective
Subject proposed by Lefèvre e Lefèvre, obtaining 05 themes and 13 speech. All the stages of
the research followed faithfully the Resolution 466/2016 of the National Health Council.
During the speeches was possible to see the superficiality of the nurse`s knowledge about the
professional identity of the nurse in the Basic Attention scenario, emphasized in the speeches
of the participants of the interview. It was also clear the weakness of the minimum health team
about the knowledge of the specific role of the nurse, generating identity conflicts on this
professional, as well as the loss in formation of its identity. In addition to that, it could be seen
that the members of the health team linked the professional identity to their particular clothing,
as well as those who do everything in this level of attention. This study also distinguished the
importance of the nurse in the Basic Attention scenario, being considered fundamental to an
overall good health service. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen the specific competences
of nursing, diminishing the existing gaps about such identity in the practical scenario of Basic
Attention. Besides that, it can lead to reflections of how the job is seen and as a result build
strategies to cause the approach of the nurses to the schools, being recognized by what they are,
and not by just what they do.
