Children with HIV/sida are gaining evidence in the panorama of the epidemic, either by its growth of epidemiology, due to the process of juvenização, or by the increase in the survival of those who were infected through vertical transmission. These children have their ordinary lives modified, due to the need for a permanent monitoring in health services, continued use of medication and possible Immune weakness, which leads to a history of repeated hospitalizations. In this context, the figure of the nurse comes up as a professional active in the care of children with HIV/sida, and that must engage in the struggle for customer service stock in all areas of health care. The objective of this study was understand the vision of the nursing staff about health and quality of life of children with HIV/sida and its consequences for the care provided. It is a descriptive study, cross-sectional and qualitative approach. The study was carried out in reference hospitals for contagious diseases in the city of João Pessoa, capital of the state of Paraiba. The sample was obtained by the technique of saturation and consisted of 20 nursing professionals providing care to children with HIV/aids in the Hospital Complex of contagious diseases Dr. Clementino Fraga and the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital. The instrument used for the production of empirical material was the semi-structured interview. The technique of analysis of the empirical material used was the analysis of discourse of French matrix. In compliance with the CNS Resolution 466/2012, the project was submitted to the Committee for Ethics in Research selected by the National Committee for Ethics in Research (CONEP), through the Platform, along with the required documents for submission. The research was initiated only after approval of the CEP the University Hospital Alcides Ram and of the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital, by means of seem 1.469.821 and no 1.532.340. In this study, we described the conditions large of productions and immediate of speeches, as well as were analyzed the characteristics of the interviewed subjects. The speeches were grouped into discursive sequences by similarities of meanings and therefore the following discursive formations were built: Child health with HIV/sida from the perspective of nursing staff: a fragmented view versus a holistic view; Conceptions of nursing team about the quality of life of children with HIV/sida; Nursing care to children with HIV/sida: a reductionist praxis; Obstacles in the provision of nursing care to children with HIV/sida; The coping stigma in the child's daily life with HIV/sida and the relationship of the nursing staff with the family of the child with HIV/sida. At the end of this study, it is considered that the nursing care affects, directly or indirectly, health and quality of life of children with HIV/sida, since these professionals work closely, providing a fundamental care for the maintenance of good -being these children. In this context, we reiterate the need for concepts of transformation and practices of these professionals, so that from the comprehensive and systemic understanding of the multiple needs of children with HIV/sida, considered in their biological, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions, oferte himself to these humanized and decisive care.
