Resumo:
The care to the patient with mental disorder in emergency situation reveals a discussion of important social and academic implication, around the mental health, with their ideas of inclusion, respect for singularities, appreciation of the subjective aspect, promotion of dialogue as a therapeutic element, struggle to build citizenship and justice for their patients, and the Mobile Emergency Response Service (SAMU), where objectivity prevails, optimization of time, valuation of sophisticated equipment, mechanistic and biological view of being and extreme technical formalization of actions. The objective of this study was to analyze the perception of the Nursing team in the Pre-Hospital Care to the individual with Mental Disorders. Descriptive exploratory research with a qualitative approach, carried out at SAMU de Sousa, Paraíba. The sample was composed by Nurses and Nursing Technicians who worked in said service in the period of October 2018. The data were analyzed through Content Analysis emerging three nuclei of meaning: 1 - Understanding of the SAMU nursing team in relation to mental health emergencies; 2 - Development of the approach to the patient with mental disorders in emergency situations; 3 - Facilities x Difficulties encountered in the care of the patient with mental disorders in an emergency situation. The results revealed the difficulty of professionals in developing a quality approach to patients with mental disorders in emergency situations, lacking knowledge and limited capacity, often using the support of other organs, given the fear of attending these patients, through the aggressive profile that some present. In addition, the lack of a reference sector for patient guidance reveals how much the aspects proposed by the Psychiatric Reform are still far from being sought. We conclude the existence of difficult factors present in the first approach of the patient with mental disorder who need management investments regarding training and continuing education actions for the professionals of SAMU.
