Resumo:
The present reflects on the strengthening of the protagonism students of Youth and Adults
Education (EJA) from a settlement based on the Fresh Water Program (PAD), with emphasis
on the principles of Solidarity Economy and its advantages for this community. Thus, the
objective of the field research was to verify the perception of these students about the PAD
and the possibilities of empowerment and strengthening of youth protagonism. The research
is characterized as a case study. The research instrument was a questionnaire with informal
conversations with a public of 16 students. As a result the students mentioned that the PAD
offers access to potable water and helps the family income of their settlers and that they have
some participation in the activities of the Program. The research found that there is gender
balance among the students, indicating that there is a strengthening in female protagonism,
that the age group is over 30 years, which shows the lack of opportunity or the needs of this
public to work and that the source of Main income comes from social projects, pointing to the
lack of opportunities of this public. Regarding the perception about the PAD, all the students
considered of paramount importance to the Settlement. The participation of young people in
the organizations is important for 87% of the participants, but they show dissatisfaction with
the lack of opportunities that provide autonomy and active participation of the youth and
generate a source of income so that they do not leave their community.
