The religiousness/spirituality and its relation to the health of individuals is noted for bias form in the process of community health and disease. The search for the transcendent through practices and faith that generate comfort and well-being in individuals influences and reflects on the treatment by technical-scientific environment required by the current hegemonic health model, especially allopathic treatments. This study aims to evaluate the design of the religious leaders, health professionals and community about the influence of religion/spirituality on health-disease process. This is an exploratory-descriptive study of predominantly qualitative nature, methodologically based on historical and dialectical materialism. The survey was conducted with religious leaders, health professionals and community members who have, or go for health problems totalizando18 employees who participated in the interviews guided by a semi-structured script. Discussion nine (09) empirical categories from three (03) analytical categories enabled the issue of deepening pointing out that most lines converge to the speech that religion/spirituality is to add up the healing process and is reconciled with medical treatment, can provide comfort, self-esteem and greater confidence in facing the problem. It can be inferred with this study it was possible to note that the spiritual treatment is usually sought because of the precariousness of SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde) that does not meet the way that will meet the need of individuals, resulting thus in some cases, abandonment of medical treatment by spiritual exclusive treatment.
