Depression is considered the evil of the century, research shows that the rates of people affected by a clinical depression that can often be fatal, is increasing every year, demanding an increase in psychiatric consultations and clinical psychology. Depression is estimated to be second only to the most disabling diseases in the world by the middle of 2020. Thus, depression can affect the biopsychosocial state, making them unable to develop their daily activities. The aim of this study was to identify the dimensions of the depression disorder, which leads it to be considered as the disease of the century, a disease that affects the individual in his psychosocial state and its multifactorial causes. This is a field-type research study, with a quantitative approach. The population of the study was composed of CAPS II users. The sample was of 20 people in mental suffering, who possessed as a diagnostic hypothesis the humor disorder characterized as depression. Included in the survey were users who were being followed by CAPS II diagnosed with some type of depression for more than three months. The instrument for data collection was a semi-structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed and quantified. The study was submitted to the Ethics and Research Committee on CAAE: 68246917.9.0000.5575, with the approval of Opinion no. 2,206,693. The results demonstrate that those with depressive disorder are predominantly female, in a single marital state, with ages ranging from 31 to 40 years. Regarding the data relevant to the research it is noticed that the type of diagnosis prevalent was severe depressive disorder with psychotic symptoms. According to the coexistence with the relatives, the interviewers report, that it is stressful and difficult. Regarding the treatment, the majority of respondents answered using the therapeutic, drug and psychosocial method. In short, the Depression is increasingly becoming a public health problem, it is necessary to carry out strategies aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being, as well as the rehabilitation of those diagnosed with depressive disorder.
