Abstract:
The diagnosis, treatment and recovery of Tuberculosis in the prison environment is a challenge for the health area, since the difficult detection of cases and treatment in the Brazilian prisons makes it difficult every day for the overcrowding of prisons, lack of active search, treatment. Qualified care and increased attention to this audience is indispensable to ensure a healthy life. Thus, this study aimed to analyze, from publications in scientific journals, the incidence of tuberculosis in public prisons, in the light of the integrative review method. It is an integrative review of literature, based on data from the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) and Nursing Database (BDENF). The search terms were "Tuberculosis AND Prisons", "Tuberculosis AND Diagnosis", "Tuberculosis AND Brazil" and "Prison AND Brazil", And the crossing was done two by two and soon after the four DECS ("Tuberculosis AND Prisons AND Brazil AND Diagnosis") through the boolean "AND" in order to arrive at a final sample of articles of the last 10 years. As criteria for inclusion, the articles available in full in the 10-year period (2006-2016) in the English, Portuguese and Portuguese languages were delimited. The sample was constituted at the end of the search for 10 articles. The studies indicate the incidence of TB cases in Brazilian prisons, ways to diagnose the disease and strategies to reduce cases for the population deprived of liberty. In light of these findings, it is pointed out the precision of the construction of more research on this subject.
