Resumen:
The Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU) has a great social relevance and objective meet
occurrences which poses a risk the health and life of the victim, and the complexity of care
favors the emergence of stressors that can affect the quality of life professionals. Therefore, it
is important to develop resilience for the same, this is understood as the ability to face the
difficulties that occur linked to care. Therefore, the proposal aimed to investigate the
resilience of nursing professionals working in mobile pre-hospital service of the city of
Cajazeiras / PB. This is an exploratory-descriptive qualitative research, and realization of this
application we used semi-structured interviews with nine SAMU nurses city of Cajazeiras -
PB. After this phase, the data were transcribed and analyzed qualitatively according to the
content analysis proposed by Bardin, yielding five categories of analysis. It was found that
most participants are identified with the MECS, but at the beginning faced many difficulties,
ranging from the lack of preparation even more negative feelings. As for the challenges, they
pointed mental and physical loads, lack of professional training, lack of human and material
resources, among others. They said they were moved emotionally assisted with events, but
feel able to carry out the activities imposed by the work. In the case of strategies to face
adversity, they mentioned the dialogue, leisure and spiritual activities, among others.
Although it was possible to grasp that there is unanimity on the non implementation of
psychological assistance in the SAMU and they resort to prayers; family friends; among
others, when they need assistance in psychological issues. We conclude that the work
environment requires that these professionals are resilient, so that they can act efficiently and
not allow the emotional aftershocks hinder the care provided and their own quality of life.
