Résumé:
Nutrition is indispensable in different life cycles, its appreciation is essential in the critical phase of the central nervous system development. During pregnancy and lactation, the need for essential fatty acids are increased and the lack of this nutrient may predispose to undesirable metabolic changes. Among the sources of AGE, there is the ostrich oil, which also features high oleic acid content (w-9) in its composition. Thus, the aim of this research was to analyze changes in the anxiety parameters in the offspring of rats given ostrich oil during pregnancy and lactation. Was used primiparous rats to obtain the offspring. Confirmed the pregnancy, the rats were divided into two groups. Control Group (CG), which received standard diet, having as lipid source 7% of soybean oil and Experimental Group (EG), which received the diet containing 7% of ostrich oil as lipid source. The diets was offered throughout pregnancy and lactation. For analysis of the anxiety parameters were analyzed the performance of animals in the Open Field and Maze in Cruz High.. At 22 days of age, each animal was placed in the open-field arena during ten minutes for the evaluation of ambulation, rearing, grooming and defecation. In the elevated plus-maze, the animals were placed individually individually when completed 42 days of life, in order to evaluate the time spent in the open and closed arms and central area, number of entries in the open and closed arms and head dips. The values obtained were expressed as mean (±), standard error of the mean (S.E.M.) and statistically analyzed using the Student t-test unpaired, being considered significant result when presented (P< 0,05). It was possible to verify that the animals in the experimental group showed anxiolytic effect, demonstrated by increased ambulation, less time performing the grooming, most time spent in the central area of the maze and less time spent inside the closed arms. Based on the data, it is concluded that maternal consumption ostrich oil in this stage of life reduces anxiety parameters in the offspring.
