Resumen:
The presente monograph work has as objective to do an analysis of the Mandala Project in
Acauã settlement in the city of Aparecida - PB, with the community embracing the practice.
The system of food production Mandala is an innovative project, which in addition to
working with organic production through family farming, enables rural families in the region
a better condition of life, economic and social point of view. To achieve the goal of this work,
initially made up a theoretical discursão on the family farm in Brazil, and Northeast
identifying the main advantages and challenges of working with the Mandala project, pointing
to its importance in preserving the environment and strengthening of family farming. The
implementation of this production project also promotes the social inclusion of the
participating families, as reduced costs provide this insertion and dismantle the appreciation
of local traditions and customs of this community. Since the project benefits the community
Settlement Acauã, however due to lack of water and technical assistance of the project
creators and government agencies could not reach the originally intended success in this area.
