Obesity is constituted as a public health problem, defined as the result of the interaction between genetic vulnerability and the external environment, considered a facilitator. It is associated with numerous diseases that are related to increased morbidity and mortality. Among the pathologies observed in obese subjects are eating disorders. One of the eating disorders marked by desynchronization of the circadian system is the Night Eating Syndrome (SCN) which is initially observed in obese and has several characteristics of which the three main ones are morning anorexia, evening hyperphagia or night and insomnia. This study aimed to characterize the prevalence of Night Eating Syndrome in university students of health courses at the Federal University of Campina Grande - Campus Cuité - PB. The methodology consisted of applying self-report questionnaire, using the Nigth Eating Questionnaire, translated and adapted to Brazilian version by Harb, Caumo and Hidalgo (2008). The questionnaire consists of 14 questions and each question has five possible answers (0-4). To evaluate the association between weight and age, the occurrence of CNS was used BMI according to the parameters suggested by the World Health Organization (1995). Questionnaires were numbered, and then translated into a digital platform using the features of Microsoft Access version 2010. Program for the validation of typing was used Epi Info program, version 6.02. After typing, the database was transferred to the Statistical Package for Social Science program (SPSS) for Windows version 13.0 for statistical analysis. We evaluated 304 students aged between 18 and 39 years. The SCN was observed in 2.6% of students and 9.9% had a risk for their development. This study revealed that 75% of university who have the syndrome met with nutritional status considered eutrophic.
