Abstract:
The nurser plays an important role in the care of people suffering from chronic
injuries by their technicalscientific
skills and competence, as well as his sociopolitical
commitment in contributing effectively with the treatment, rehabilitation and (re)insertion of
those people in the routine of daily life, family and community. For being considered one of
the immediate responsibles for the success of the injury healing, such a professional might
provide a holistic care, orientated towards the attendance of the affected basic human needs,
by means of a daily evaluation of a care programme. Objetive: Describe the nursing care
offered to the person carrying a chronic injury. Methodology: Descriptive study with a
qualitative approach, developed by the Health Strategies of Family in the city of CajazeirasPB,
with a sample of 15 nursers, chosen on purpose. The empiric material collected in the
months of 2015 May and June through a structured questionnaire was analysed by the
technique of Content Analysis. According to the regulation of the National Health Council
(NHC) through the Resolution 466/2012, the study was submited to the Faculty Santa Maria’s
Ethics in Research Commitee. Results: One perceives participants’ profile solely female (25),
bachelorette (7), with ages ranging from the economically active age group, from 25 to 44
years (15), with lato sensu graduate degree as their maximum academic rank (10), working as
assistant nursers and managers (10), graduated between two and seven years (13), being hired
or holding permanent job positions (10), acting approximately two years in the current ESF
(9) with 40 hours a week (8), and not enrolled in topicrelated
courses in the last twoyears
(12). It is perceptible that the nursing care targeted to those people is found frail, since the
participants displayed insecurity in order to deal with the theme for lack of technical skill and
sciencerelated
knowledge. Furthermore, the therapeutical attach between both, when
happens, is found rooted in obligatory tasks like the home visit and in technical procedures
like the bandaging of a wound. Conclusion: One notices the inherent need for qualification of
these professionals added up with the sensitivity in approaching the topic in a more
committed manner, looking forward to a more holistic care.
