Abstract:
Diabetes mellitus (DM) it is set of metabolic diseases related to changes in the production or action of insulin and it´s characteristic the elevation of the level of glucose in the bloodstream.. This disease mainly affects the elderly, however, can affect any age group. Is considered a problem of lhe public order because its consequence, such as: interference in an individual's quality of life, increased incidence/prevalence of morbidity and mortality and high financial costs, both for the family and for society. Through these problems requires as a comprehensive and continuous assistance to individuals with DM in the primary health service, which must have the participation of the multidisciplinary team working preferably, interdisciplinary manner. This research aimed as a evaluate the perception of the professionals about the importance of the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary assistance bearer of the DM. This is an exploratory and descriptive study, with quali-quantitative approach, It was developed with the multidisciplinary team of the basic unit St. José/PAPS, in Cajazeiras-PB. The data were collected in january and february 2015, through a roadmap pre-drawn and taped interviews. The data of subjective issues were organized and categorized according to content analysis technique of Bardin and the quantitative tables, both analyzed in the light of relevant literature. The survey followed the principles of resolution Nº 466/2012 National Health Council. Participated in this study 10 health professionals, mostly female (90%), with ages ranging between 26 to 37 years (60%), with marital status single (60%), full secondary education(40%), profession of ACS´s (50%), with complementary profession in the area of operation (40%), and length of service between 10 to 17 years (50%).The results of this survey reveal that the professionals interviewed noted the relevance of the work of the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary team in assisting the bearer of DM and that this form of assistance improves of patients to treatment in addition to satisfy your needs and better performance of each professional. However, it has been found that such a team usually does not act with interdisciplinarity, demonstrating need for greater interaction between its members to provide a better service to the bearer of the DM.
