Abstract:
Introduction: The host in health must be understood at the same time as ethical / aesthetic /
political constituent of ways to produce health technology and intervention tool in the training
of listening guideline, link building, ensuring access to and accountability solving services.
Household contacts of tuberculosis patients along with their family should be welcomed and
conducted these services to perform the tuberculin test, chest radiography and
chemoprophylaxis. Objective: To study the perception of household contacts of tuberculosis
patients about the care and control performed by the health services. Methodology: The study
of exploratory and descriptive, qualitative approach, developed at the household level of 16
household contacts of tuberculosis patients registered in the municipality of ESF 26-PB
Sousa. Larger contacts of 16 years and no maximum age limit were selected, provided they
were not suffering from dementia or mental needs; independent adjoining gender, schooling
and enrolled area (if urban or rural area), and who agreed to participate voluntarily in the
study after ethical clarification. The data collected in July 2014 through a semi-structured
interview were analyzed through content analysis proposed by Bardin. Pursuant to Resolution
466/2012 the National Health Council, the survey was forwarded to the Ethics Committee in
Research (CEP) of Santa Maria College (WSF / PB) for purposes of assessment or opinion.
Results: knowledge about the disease, reaction / behavior of the family after the diagnosis of
the family, looking at the connecting service, knowledge about host quality: After seven
successive readings representative themes of perception about the communicating host and
tuberculosis control were extracted assistance, conduct of examinations and receiving home
visits by health professionals. It is noticed that the host and control are essential elements for
membership, treatment, early diagnosis and incidence of TB. So it proved that knowledge,
quality of care and to care for family members of patients with tuberculosis is very important
to control this disease. Conclusion: It is necessary to reorganize primary health care and
enable strategies to nurture and care for this group, training and development of human
resources is necessary to provide quality care and service, supplying all the needs of these
users.
